Baten Kaitos goes Gold

By Rich · November 1, 2004

Namco has just announced that Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean has gone gold. Developed by Monolith Soft, the people who've brought us Xenosaga, this RPG will ship to retail on November 16.

The game's interesting focus is on its card-based battle system. The main character draws the cards in the deck randomly, and from there, you can choose the attack or spell commands. Despite what anybody may think, the battles are a lot like a fight in Final Fantasy than a game of Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh!

Being that it's a unique creation of the minds used to create the story of Chrono Cross and the music of Star Ocean, Namco looks to bring some more great quality RPG this year. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean will be rated "T for Teen" at a MSRP of $49.99. Gamers who preorder the game at one of three specialty retailers will receive a bonus as well.
