Next-Generation "Need For Speed" Title Revealed
In an interview with Computer & Video Games, Electronic Arts revealed that a new "Need For Speed" title is in the pipeline for all major next-gen consoles, GameCube 2 (or "Revolution") included. Chuck Osieja, producer of current-generation follow up to the smash "Need For Speed Underground 2," reiterated that the forthcoming title will "revolutionize the way people look at driving games."
You'd think that now would be the prime time to invest in the current generation of consoles and to expand their lifespan, wouldn't you? Well, clearly Chuck doesn't and EA is behind him every step of the way; he stated also, "We're seeing with the specs of the new hardware we can do some pretty amazing stuff; for us it's figuring out how to harness the laws of nature in basically a 2D gaming environment. Even though it's a full 3D environment on screen you're still limited by a TV screen, so how do you harness those things that you experience naturally in the world and translate them to a videogame experience?"
