The genius that is Hideo Kojima, brought stealth action gamers everything they wanted and more in 1998 when Metal Gear Solid debuted on the original Playstation. It was Snakes first experience in a fully 3D environment, and it became an instant success. In fact, many proclaim this installment in the series to be the best of them all. So you can understand why we’re getting so excited about Twin Snakes for the Nintendo GameCube.
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes will be a remake of the original Playstation game. Except, Twin Snakes will feature GameCube quality visuals, and include many gameplay features found in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. For example, you will have the first person ability in Twin Snakes, this was not in the original version.
Besides being a Metal Gear game, there are other reasons why you should be excited about this wonderful remake. Hideo Kojima is overseeing the project along with Shigeru Miyamoto, the game is being developed by Silicon Knights (The Canadians that brought you Eternal Darkness). So as you can see, this is a very ambitious title.
The Metal Gear games have always had their feel for cinematics, and Twin Snakes will be no different. Hideo Kojima has chosen a specific director to handle the cinematics for Twin Snakes. Ryuhei Kitamura, a famous Japanese film director will be leading the cinematics. Kojima has given Mr. Kitamura a lot to play with, Kojima wont be watching over him too much, giving Kitamura a lot of freedom.
From what we’ve seen so far, we totally psyched for this game. The visuals seem to have been updated to the quality of MGS2, to say the least, and the short cinematics we’ve seen hints at pure brilliance that Kitamura will be delivering.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is set to sneak into stores in middle November, check us out for a review shortly after.
